Laurie Moore is an acoustic/electric bassist hailing from Glasgow, Scotland. Born into a family with a deep musical tradition, Laurie picked up the double and electric bass in his early teenage years and hasn’t looked back since. This path has led him to study at the prestigous Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, starting at just 16 years old.
He has already made a name for himself working in the Scottish/wider UK jazz scene including performing at the UK’s/EU’s no1. jazz club, Ronnie Scott’s. He has worked with a wide array of prominent artist’s in this scene not limited to Bill Wells, Marianne McGregor, Brian Kellock, Mama Terra, Dave Newton and various others.
His work as a composer and arranger has seen him write and arrange music for the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland. He has also contributed arrangement’s for shows at the world’s biggest performing arts festival, The Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Laurie also has experience working with artists in the more contemporary field such as Natasha Bedingfield and Saul Adamczewski (Fat White Family, Insecure Men). His time on cruise ships also saw him perform with notable guest artist’s such as Faye Tozer (Steps), Kerry Ellis(West End, Sir Brian May) and Kevin Simm(Wet Wet Wet, The Voice UK Winner)
Laurie has rose to prominence being nominated for the Rising Star Award at the 2022 Scottish Jazz Awards as well as reaching the final of the 2024 BBC Radio Scotland Young Jazz Musician of the Year Award.
